Use Keywords In Movie Filename To Auto Select Custom Sequences
MidnightWatcher commented on MidnightWatcher's __defart_ideas_idea in PreShow Experience
Here's the conditions menu for my default sequence and then the "Star Wars" sequence. My thinking was to have the default sequence flag for all genres identified in the conditions, except for those that I use for my "Scary" sequence (Thriller/Horror) and the "Star Wars" sequence. The "Scary" sequence I had no issues with (I removed the Thriller and Horror genres from the default sequence), but the "Star Wars" sequence wouldn't get selected with the conditions identified in the second screenshot. What got it eventually "working" was to remove all the Genres from the NFO files for the Star Wars movies that were still included in the default sequence and just leave "Star Wars" as the genre (they initially included "Action" and "Science Fiction" genres, so that may have forced PSE to trigger the default sequence, despite the StarWars tag). That way, the Star Wars films no longer meet any of the conditions set for my default sequence. I'm sure there's an easier way to get this done that I may be missing. Perhaps we need a category option that states "Any Except ..." ? -
I believe PSE is specifically for Kodi 20.x only. For Kodi 19.x you'll need to download the last CinemaVision beta that Matt released.

I believe @garzilla uses the Shield?

New trailers intro created, Star Wars themed (long version, yes the first 25 seconds are black, kids will get a kick out of it in a dark theater room I think). Hopefully a future PreShow update will allow selecting specific trivia folders for sequences, would like this one to have all Star Wars trivia only. Use Keywords In Movie Filename To Auto Select Custom Sequences
MidnightWatcher commented on MidnightWatcher's __defart_ideas_idea in PreShow Experience
Yeah, I added a "Star Wars" genre as well as a "Star Wars" tag but it still used the default sequence. Might be a bug somewhere in 0.1.2 that needs addressing? -
Use Keywords In Movie Filename To Auto Select Custom Sequences
MidnightWatcher commented on MidnightWatcher's __defart_ideas_idea in PreShow Experience
Is there a way to prioritize what PSE checks first (eg. Tags first, then Genre) before selecting what sequence to use? I tried a quick test using "StarWars" as a tag (updated the NFO accordingly and rescanned back into the library) to select a Star Wars sequence but PSE appeared to select the sequence based on genre. -
Matt just released it.

I think you and garzilla are right about just using tags. I'll have to give that a shot. -
Use Keywords In Movie Filename To Auto Select Custom Sequences

I'd recommend the PSE indicator to require the usage of "." before and after the keyword, so not just "Christmas" but ".Christmas." -
What program do you use to create your .nfo files?
MidnightWatcher replied to OTA's topic in General Discussion
Question for @OTA and @NightWatcherTheater. After scraping all movies in my library to store the nfo and fanart in the movie's directory I then downloaded a custom movie poster for a few titles (didn't like any of the options available in TMM). Once completed, I went to Kodi and scraped all movies using local info only. Most titles displayed everything correctly -- posters, fanart, clearlogo -- but Kodi did not display some of the custom movie posters that I downloaded and told TMM to use. The filenames for the posters are perfectly fine in the movie folder's directory (movie_name-poster.jpg) and I can manually select the custom poster after browsing to the Item Folder. Have you come across this issue? (Note: This only seems to be affecting Kodi installed on my Firestick 4K, not my nVidia Shield Pro). Figured it out: The Firestick is accessing my media server via FTP (faster) whereas the ethernet-connected nVidia Shield Pro is using the SMB server. This is an odd bug, I'll notify the Kodi developers. -
I think they should. I'll reach out to meyer64 to see if he can update his site/app to note that for Kodi 20 or later to use PSE.

Christmas and Halloween for sure.

Do either one of these also download a preferred poster and fanart for each title and save it to the movie's folder? I like to only use actual movie posters with titles, tag lines, actor names, etc. -
Use Keywords In Movie Filename To Auto Select Custom Sequences

You wouldnt have to if you chose not to and can continue based on genre. I'd probably update a few dozen filenames with keywords, mostly Christmas films and kids films, but I'd also have trailer intros & home theater intros created using a Star Wars theme, a UFO theme, a Transformers theme and a couple more. -
Use Keywords In Movie Filename To Auto Select Custom Sequences
MidnightWatcher posted Feature Request in PreShow Experience
I know we can select custom sequences by genre, but would it be possible for a future release of PreShow Experience to include the ability to add a keyword to a sequence that PSE would identify in a movie's filename and then auto select the associated sequence? For example, for a movie like Elf (Will Ferrell) we could name it Elf.Christmas.mkv and PreShow Experience would see the ".Christmas." keyword in the filename and select the Christmas sequence (which a future release could allow you to also specify Christmas trivia and Christmas music). This would allow very easy customization to ensure the sequence of your choice is always selected for each title you choose. If no keyword is present, PSE would simply use a default sequence of your choice. I could see myself using this for all kinds of films. For example: ".Halloween." (The more family friendly films) ".Horror." (Not for kids) ".StarWars." (Speaks for itself) ".SciFi." (For generic science fiction movies) ".Kids." (Films geared toward a younger audience) ".DCEU." (Films in the DC Extended Universe) ".ThrowBack." (For your favorite classics / nostalgic films) The possibilities could be endless. -
Rapier is a popular skin and one I use for all my devices.

I use it to dim Philips Hue lights before trivia, dim further before trailers, turn off before the main feature and turn on once the movie ends.

Automatically Turn Lights On Once End Credits Begin
MidnightWatcher posted Feature Request in Actions
Would there be a way to add an action file that turns the home theater lights on once the end credits begin to roll, perhaps either by running an action file once the final chapter begins? Or perhaps, if a specific text file exists in the title's source directory (eg. lights-on.pse) containing nothing but a user-defined timestamp, at which point an action file to turn the lights on is then run? This would be helpful for titles that have no chapter markers or the desired time to turn the lights on it to wait until after a mid-credit scene. -

It would be great if a future release had the ability to select a specific folder(s) for a sequence. For example, if using a sequence geared toward the horror genre we would select folder(s) that contain trivia about horror movies.
