I'm always interested to see how people use PreShow.  Please let me know what modules you use and feel free so share any description of what you do with your PreShows?

Submitted mine. My answers were typical usage, but on occasion I've been known to use additional modules like Audio Format, Outros, Courtesy, Countdown. I haven't tried the Loop module yet. I also have specific genre-based sequences for horror films and certain sci-fi films.

If its there im useing it 🤣 If your coming to my theater your on for the full experience.. I'll stick gum underneath your seat if i have to ...

I misuse some of the video bumper folders. I need one only for ice cream commercials for example. And I have a folder with only blackscreen videos without sound which differ in length. Pse plays a random one at the beginning of a sequence so that I dont know, when the commercisls are going to start, to make it feel more like cinema.

I have made a lot of playlist based on years since 1960 to 2025. Playlist are automaticaly selected depending on the date of the movie you launch. This allow me to have preshow experience related to the year that the movie has been released. So you have trailers related to the date of the movie, and also some bumper at the same period. This allow to put the movie in his original context and it looks great to me. Preshow experience is really easily customisable, the only limit is your imagination ! I have mixed also commercials spots related to time period (1980's, 1990's, etc) and have added cartoons in the same folder. You have the surprise of having a cartoon launched or just a commercial.

This setup sounds like a lot of fun. The upcoming versions of PreShow are basically a way to do this exact thing with only 1 sequence.

What are you doing to show trailers related to the year of your movie?

For some reason my friends find it to be obnoxiously long, I kinda see their point now so I'm gonna chop it down. And with PSE having conditions, I'm going to spend a silly amount of time making sequences for movies I have trivia for and just whatever I can do with it that HTE & CE couldn't.

And I don't remember how I had it configured, but I'm sure when HTE came out 15 years ago my original sequence was even longer and more obnoxious lol.

I group my PreShows into 2 categories, short and full. For regular movie nights I just have a simple intro and trailers. I try to keep it between 5-10 minutes.

For my big movie nights I do something similar to what you described.

I try to think of the experience kind of like a chef. The basic PreShow is primarily a palate cleanser. I want to get people ready to leave the world behind and enjoy a movie. The full thing is a multi-course meal, where I want to take people on a journey.

I have simply made a trailer folder and a subtrailer folder by year. For example, in the trailer folder, i have a trailer 80's folder, and 1981 subfolder, 1982 subfolder, etc, in it.

The sequence titled "1981" take on the folder "trailer 1981" at random, that is so simple. The only thing that demand a little work is to make a sequence for each year. But all sequence are made on the same model so it's very easy and quick to adapt them by just changing the trailer folder on the trailer bumper, making the same for the commercial folder too.

The only thing I can't do, is to delete a sequence... I don't find how to make it. If someone can tell me ? Thanks.
