Automatically Turn Lights On Once End Credits Begin
Would there be a way to add an action file that turns the home theater lights on once the end credits begin to roll, perhaps either by running an action file once the final chapter begins? Or perhaps, if a specific text file exists in the title's source directory (eg. lights-on.pse) containing nothing but a user-defined timestamp, at which point an action file to turn the lights on is then run? This would be helpful for titles that have no chapter markers or the desired time to turn the lights on it to wait until after a mid-credit scene.

Select Specific Trivia Folders For Sequence
It would be great if a future release had the ability to select a specific folder(s) for a sequence. For example, if using a sequence geared toward the horror genre we would select folder(s) that contain trivia about horror movies.

PreShow Repo?
It'd be nice to have a Pre-Show Experience repository until it gets added to the official Kodi one. This would make a more convenient install method. Using a repository would not only allow for easy install of PSE, but also automatically keep it up to date with the latest version.

Loop Module
I would love to have a 'loop module'.
Everything within the loop start and loop end gets looped until a specified button (like skip foward for example) gets pressed.
This could be great if you have a animated version of your homecinema logo. That is basically doing an idle animation until the guests arrive. Once everyone is sitting you hit the skip foward button and the rest of the playlist starts.
Did a quick visual layout of how it could look in the sequence:

filename tagging for shorts and trailers
For those of us that use trailers and shorts that aren't stored in the kodi library (just a dump of files in a folder), it would be nice to be able to tag files with genre, rating etc for filtering so that they can still be displayed when genre matching and rating limits are active.

Intermission/Interval Sequence
A timestamp set in the sequence which breaks the movie into two halves. At the time stamp specified, the movie stops playing to transition to a bunch of short films or ads and then once this sequence is completed, the movie resumes from this time sequence. Like an intermission or interval between the movie.

Correct Audio Format Bumpers based on Media-Information from Kodi
Previous versions of Cinemavision (CV) did not manage to play the correct audio format bumper based on the Media Information deteced by Kodi.
Discussions in the previous CV forum indicated that not even the developers knew, based on what the Audio-Bumper was selected:
- Flags in the file name e.g. Ben Hur.BD50.Atmos.mkv?
- Media Information from Kodi as displayed in the library?
Would be great, if this could get fixed in PSE!

Use Keywords In Movie Filename To Auto Select Custom Sequences
I know we can select custom sequences by genre, but would it be possible for a future release of PreShow Experience to include the ability to add a keyword to a sequence that PSE would identify in a movie's filename and then auto select the associated sequence? For example, for a movie like Elf (Will Ferrell) we could name it Elf.Christmas.mkv and PreShow Experience would see the ".Christmas." keyword in the filename and select the Christmas sequence (which a future release could allow you to also specify Christmas trivia and Christmas music). This would allow very easy customization to ensure the sequence of your choice is always selected for each title you choose. If no keyword is present, PSE would simply use a default sequence of your choice.
I could see myself using this for all kinds of films. For example:
".Halloween." (The more family friendly films)
".Horror." (Not for kids)
".StarWars." (Speaks for itself)
".SciFi." (For generic science fiction movies)
".Kids." (Films geared toward a younger audience)
".DCEU." (Films in the DC Extended Universe)
".ThrowBack." (For your favorite classics / nostalgic films)
The possibilities could be endless. 😁

Seamless Transition (No Loading Icon)
There’s nothing quite like playing a sequence for a movie night and feeling that complete immersion. Unfortunately there’s always a loading icon between every transition of the sequence and that takes away from the true theater experience.
As far as UI goes, is there a way to hide/remove this icon?
Another thought would be that we can somehow make each upcoming part of the sequence be cached while the part in front of it is playing.
Any other ideas are welcome. These were just a couple off the top of my head.

randomized time-delay to start the sequence
Hey guys,
I think a nice feature would be to have the option for a randomized time delay. So if you start your sequence, you will get a black screen for an unknown time. Than you would not exactly know, when the sequence and movie are going to start. For me, this would feel more immersive like in a real cinema, where i also sit around and wait for commercials, trailers and the movie to beginn.
At the moment I created a work around: I filled one video bumper folder with only black screen videos with different lengths. Like from 20 seconds up tp 3 min in 15 seconds intervalls. My sequence beginns with one randomly selected video out of this folder. When I press the start button, the screen just gets black and I and maybe visitors dont exactly know when the movie is going to start.
This works pretty fine for me, so there isnt any rush or actual need to implement it. I just thought maybe it would be nice for others, too 🙂

Well documented API call requests
It would be nice to have some clearly written documentation on how to utilize Kodi api calls to communicate with sequencing. I use home assistant for automation which leverages the kodi call method to send commands to kodi and documentation on how to use add on api calls and syntax is CRUCIAL for that.

Different languages for scraped trailers
Hello everyone,
I think it would be nice if there was an option for changing the language of trailers.
This could also be done by using the systems language.
As far a I have seen there is currently no option for that but I might have overlooked it.
I don‘t know if that‘s easy possible but I really would appreciate it in a future version.
Thanks for your work and have a nice day!

Allow trailer playback in 4k where available
I think it would be great to have the capability to view trailers in 4k where that was possible. Many trailers have that resolution available and it makes a big difference to have that added sharpness. Where 4k was not possible, lower resolutions would play instead.

Film scratch or Flickering Overlay
I think a nice feature would be film scratches or flickering reminiscent of old movie projector screens during the preshow and trivia that you could turn on and off. I think it would tie in bumpers and make them feel more seamed together, With my bumpers and triva now being all different sets especially it would make them feel more as one like they belong together.

Custom Sequences by Date?
I was thinking it would be neat to have custom sequences for trivia and seasonal bumpers by date. Like have it check system date and for the month of December you could optionally set a Christmas related sequence. Same for Thanksgiving for November, Halloween for October, etc. Maybe even one off days like Memorial Day, Independence Day or any day really if you could set your own holidays in a calendar or something. Even birthdays. Not sure if it's possible for PSE to poll the system date or not.

Play Each Part of the Sequence Individually
When I am editing a sequence I have it play certain files for almost everything to keep it related to holidays such as Christmas or Halloween. Audio bumpers for example. When I add an audio bumper to the sequence, the menu where you are able to edit, rename, copy, move, disable/enable, and remove it would be nice to have a "Play" option so that you could play that individual part of the sequence. This would help when I'm wondering if that specific audio bumper is what I wanted. Since I have so many I forget which ones are which and being able to play that individual part of the sequence would be nice to quickly see if it was what I was looking for.
This could be helpful with many things such as trivia and being able to quickly see if it's the right trivia you want, or trailers, intermission and all those other parts of the sequence. Being able to quickly view what you just added instead of having to watch the whole sequence to get to that part would be nice.

Clearer conditional menu system
In the current CV experience, I find it unclear what conditions have to be set to get the desired outcome of sequence selected. I understand it better now than i did at first, but it's something I had to spend an annoying amount of time trying to understand how it worked...and even then, I'm still not sure it was right, but i managed to find a 'medium' with it to make it work based of genre.
For example, If I were to set a sequence to base off of a tag = marvel AND genre = action and all other fields are set to 'any' , it's not clear what field takes precedence and it gets further complicated when you have multiple values in multiple parameters at play. I guess in short, I'm asking for something as a weighted system for conditions that the user can see and identify that if i have parameters a,b,c with values x,y,z that the 'christmas' sequence will be triggered.
along with this, some error handling or fallback sequence to trigger in the event that the condition failed.
Hope this makes sense, but feel free to ask for clarification and i can include screenshots.

Alternate database (remote mysql or mariadb?) for PSE
if remote databases for pse were doable, it would make sharing sequences between multiple clients much easier, as long as network paths were preserved--also would allow for scheduled db updates from a headless client or another machine.

ZDMC compatibility of PSE
Guys,
it would be great if you could make PSE compatible with ZDMC. ZDMC is a modified version of Kodi, created by Zidoo, optimised to use the Hardware of the Zidoo Media Players instead of the default Kodi Player. Currently available as ZDMC 19.4 based on Kodi 19.4.
Previous versions of Cinemavisison did not manage to play complete sequences when running on ZDMC.

Automatically Edit the XML Files
When we are able to submit PreShow Experience to the official Kodi Repo, would it be possible to have the XML files edited to remove the loading icon in between sequences automatically? Or maybe have an option to do so within PreShow. This is an area I am very unfamiliar with so I thought I'd ask in case that was possible.
I understand that there are skins with XML files already edited that we can download here, but if we were able to choose that as an option within PreShow that could save a lot of time an headache having to edit every XML file for every skin requested. Just a thought.
Thank you.

Choose Volume Levels for Each Part of the Sequence
So some of my video bumpers are louder than others. It can be kind of a shock when I turn up the volume for one and then be blasted by the next. I don't know if it would be possible, but if we could choose the volume level for each bumper that would be awesome! This would be for when you choose a specific file and not an entire folder because that would be too much randomness to deal with.
