  2. I use an external player with Kodi and it works well. Since all my movies in my library are in the mkv format I have the playercorefactory.xml set up to only use the external player for mkv files. All downloaded trailers and video bumpers are mp4 (or I rename them to mp4) so Kodi's internal player will take care of those.

    Kodi launches an external player, which doesn't directly interact with PreShow. Many people use PreShow with the default player and external players without issue. There are some functionality that isn't available with external players (chapter action events), but they should work.     I don't know that this has anything to do with your issue. The loading/busy icons are part of the skin. Some skins have options to remove that. The functionality shouldn't affect how the videos play. The "allow skipping" functionality adds a blank video before and after every video so that when you hit next/previous chapter PreShow can see that and jump to the next item in the queue. Turning that off removes those videos, but I don't think it should affect whether a video plays or not.
  5. The action files that I originally published didn't work for some people. I've since hidden the files. I may come back to it at some point, but it probably won't be any time soon. Did you edit the action files to include the details for your setup? Did you assign them to the "Beginning of PreShow" and "Before Feature" action events?
  6. I'm planning on releasing updates to some of the old content when I get the new trivia functionality completed. I'll post back when that happens.
  7. I've been looking around for the original trivia packs by mcorcoran (and maybe ragnarok?) from the Kodi forums. I think there was a mix of actor scramble, guess who. Seems like there was the classic pack based on Aeon Nox skin and also a vibrant pack version (https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=185334) Does anyone know where to get these nowadays?

Long time fan of PSE and started using it on my Zidoo, but every time I create a sequence, I am not able to correctly use the action files i downloaded here to disable the Zidoo file before my sequence starts and enable it before my feature starts. Can someone show me the way to make something like this happen? I would like to play at least my feature using the Zidoo native player. Thanks!

Hi Matt, seems finally I was able to solve my random skipping issues like discussed here: https://preshowexperience.com/forums/topic/1913-feature-is-being-skipped/#findComment-2902 I disabled “allow skipping” in PSE settings. So far so good! Now I have the next issue. I am using external player in Kodi for windows. Kodi launches MPC-HC to play a file. Now it seems when starting the feature from PSE playback in external player stops after some seconds. Could it be that PSE does not get the current playback status from Kodi? Please find a debug log attached. Movie starts on line 5783. In line 5853 I can see: PSE: Fullscreen Video Closed. Can I get you to have a look? Many thanks kodi.zip

    No it isn’t the skin as well. I used Kodi default skin now. I can see loading/busy icon between the videos. It’s strange. On my shield I did not have any of these issues. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I have disabled “allow skipping” in the settings now and so far it looks like it is working fine now 👍

    And one extra info. I dropped external Player and just used Kodi internal Player. It’s only happening to the internal Player!

    Hi, I played around today again but even with starting with a brand new installation and sequence from scratch it’s still happening. I also have resetted all the settings it’s not related to a specific Video. It can happen with a trailer or a commercial video. Sometimes it happens once in a sequence, sometimes it does happen multiple times. It also doesn’t matter if I disable the actions I am using. And it’s also happening if I put the content directory locally on drive C: So I am out of ideas to be honest. Do you have any suggestions? If not, I thank you guess I need to drop PSE :( Thanks Christian

  27. Have you rescanned your content after adding/updating the trivia? In your trivia module settings is the "Trivia select" set to Default? Please share a log and I'll see if I can figure out what's going on. To share a log, close out of Kodi and then reopen it. Open Preshow and preview your Trivia module in the sequence editor. Then go into the PreShow settings and scroll down in the general tab until you see "paste my kodi.log to pastebin." Click that and then click "current." Next, click Show QR code and use your phone to get the link to the pastebin page. You can either share that in this thread or send me a direct message through the site with it.
  28. Trivia not showing on PSE - plays intro then outro videos but skips the images of the Trivia. I downloaded the different packs from PSE site. I made sure that the packs are under the Trivia folder. I noticed that the file naming is not the same between each pack. I tried different packs and none worked. I then changed the naming to follow the instructions Filename requirements Question images must end with _q. Answer images must end with _a. Clue images must end with _c(#1-9). Fact images can't end with q, a, or _c#. And that did not work either. What can I try next? Thanks

  31. @Matt Yes, I have set it to an smb path, it installed all the folders correctly and does not argue about saving, it just does it only has not actually saved anything. I tried another folder which is write protected and it then argued.
  32. Have you set your content path in the settings and is it writeable? It is the 1st thing in the settings, as seen in the image below.
  33. Hi all, as the title says really. I try and save and nothing happens, when I check the file list it's only got the defaults listed and if I load them it goes back to what it was. I have tried save as but get the same issue, nothing seems to save anywhere? Can I specify a directory, do I need to give some permissions somewhere?

    Usualy, I am using madVR with MPC-HC as external player launching Files from KODI. If PreshowExperience is used, than KODI is using internal player as configured in playercorefactory.xml in userdata folder. Dont know if this might play any role?

    I've tested this on Windows 11 (I don't have anything with Windows 10) a few times and haven't encountered any issues with playback. No one in the Discord channel is reporting these issues, so my best guess is it is computer specific. I'll post back if I get any new suggestions.

Looks like Team-XBMC Developer tbiden20 is spearheading an upcoming Kodi release for Windows that will once again include DSPlayer (allows using madvr directly in Kodi) to be followed later with additional support for libplacebo. This is great news for those who don't want to contend with having to use external players for Kodi and the loss of resume functionality. Furthermore, one additional feature was just added that will benefit users of PreShow Experience directly, especially projector owners.     @suchmich1983 There are some errors for jellyfin and a random youtube one, but I'm not seeing an exact cause from the logs. I'll try to set up a windows box to test and will respond back with any findings.
