My Nvidia Shield is set to begin a screensaver when there’s no activity for more than 5 minutes. If I have Trivia play for more than 5 minutes the screensaver will activate during the trivia sequence.

I can just change the Shield settings to never go to sleep or make sure it’s longer than the trivia, but just wanted to bring it up in case it’s an easy fix.

My Fire TV Cube does the same thing when I'm streaming music from my NAS.  I wonder if there's an option in KODI for a keep alive or something to keep these devices from going to sleep.

You could try turning on use visualization while playing audio and if you don't use music while playing trivia  Try also putting keep audio device alive and put it under the 5 min you set for the screen saver.

I'll look into that and give it a try when I get home from work.  I'll keep you updated!

I tried the visualization before, but this little FireTV Cube doesn't have a lot of power for that kinds of stuff.  I can see if I can find one that it can support and doesn't tax it too much.

Yes.  Even tried the PictureIt visualization and it doesn't do anything either.  I have it setup now to display fan art per track, we'll see if that changing every song is enough.
