Addon not working with Jellyfin? [SOLVED]

Question

Hello everyone,

I have a question about Preshow Experience in the context of Jellyfin:
Does this work or does the addon only work with content that is local?

I have configured Preshow so far and created a first sequence. This also works when I use the integrated preview.

However, I have not been able to get it to work before the actual movies. I have worked through the guides and unfortunately found nothing on the subject of whether it still needs to be activated somehow or how I need to start the actual movie so that the addon becomes active.
Is there anything else I need to do besides configuring the addon to make Preshow work?

Do you have any ideas?

Many thanks and greetings
Eric

I have assisted people with Jellyfin, but I don't use it.  The last I heard was that it worked, but significantly slowed down things to the point where it wasn't a good fit.  I think that @DexDeadlywas looking into it.  Hopefully he can add some perspective when he gets back from vacation.

Hi Matt,

thank you very much for your information.

From your answer I conclude that (except setting up Preshow via settings) I don't need to enable anything else (e.g. in Kodi settings or skin settings) or pay attention (so installing addon and setting it up is enough)?

Yes, then I'll wait for DexDeadly, maybe he has another idea what it could be.

Thanks again and have a nice weekend.

UPDATE:

Everything works as it should, even with Jellyfin.

It turns out that I was just a bit stupid, while looking around.
I thought the sequence would start automatically when a movie is played,
but had overlooked the option for Preshow Experience in the context menu.

Thanks again and of course thank you for the addon! 😄
